Who are you?

I had previously encountered someone who I believe really loves Elohim, but through the influence religion of Christianity (I’ve been there so I’m not dogging them).  During our conversation they would use the name Jehovah quite frequently (that lets me know that they are removing the term God and LORD from their faith vocabulary-yes!).  However, during the same conversation when I begin to use the Hebraic name of our Messiah, that person ended the conversation so subtly, and got into their vehicle and left.  That incident stayed on my mind for several days.

You see, there are many false voices, false doctrines and false beliefs that are confusing people who are doing their best to worship the Father in spirit and in truth.  One of those doctrines is “that only cults use the Hebraic name of God as YHVH, Yahweh, Yahuah, Yah, and Elohim; or the name of the Messiah as Yahusha, Yahushua, or Yeshua”.

Even though there’s historical proof that the letter “J” has only been in the English alphabet/vocabulary since the late 15th century (500-600 years), people are afraid to stop using the name Jehovah or Jesus.  These names have become personal to them; and it scares them to use any other name outside of these.  Now of course this fear comes from only Christianity.

My question:  If you believe in the Heavenly Father, would not it be your desire to find out what is right and wrong about your beliefs in order to be and do what HE requires?  However, to assist those who would like to become more like our Messiah; and to those who have encountered a similar experience as I; here’s a list of terms that may help in the transition.

YHVH = Yahweh, Yahuwah, Yahuah, or Yah found in Psalm 68:4

Elyon = The Most High (G-d).

Beit Midrash = House of study, usually referring to the study of Torah.

Chavurah =  a study group which normally meet to celebrate Sabbath, feast days etc…

K'riat ha-Torah = Reading of the Scriptures in the synagogue. What Messiah did in Luke 4.

Rosh Chodesh = The new moon. The day on which the Hebrew calendar moves to the new month.

Shema = Yah is One – found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Yahushua ( some spell it Yahusha, Yahshua, Yeshua) = Our Messiah aka in Christianity called Jesus

HaMashiach = Messiah

Baruch Hashem =  Blessed is the Name

B'rit Chadasha = Renewed Covenant or New Testament in Christianity

Torah = Five books of Moses and the instructions contained therein.

Tanach or Tanakh = The Hebrew Scriptures, called Old Testament in Christianity. TaNaCH(K) is an acronym for Torah (the books of Moses) Nevi'im (the Prophetic writings) Ketuvim (the remaining books).

Midrash ( or drash) = A commentary or teaching on the scripture

Shabbat, Sabbath = The day of rest commanded by Elohim. The seventh day.

Oneg Shabbat = A meal shared together on Shabbat. Called, "Sabbath Delight!"

Ruach HaKodesh = The Holy Spirit in Christianity.

Halacha = Rule, law, tradition, walk (living out your faith).

Shalom = Literally "Peace." Also used for Hello and Goodbye.

Shalom Aleychem = "Peace be unto you." The response is always "Alechem Shalom" - Unto your peace!

Tallit = The prayer shawl worn by a man in prayer which has Tzit-Tzit hanging from the four corners

Ets Chayeem = Tree of Life. The rollers that hold our Torah Scroll.

Shavua Tov = have a good week

Teshuvah = return to Yah, your Elohim

In your Teshuvah (return to Yah, your Elohim-Psalms 68:4) get to know the scriptures from an Hebraic thought, application and context. Remember, our Messiah was a Hebrew and did not come to destroy the law (Torah) the Hebrew Scriptures, but to explain them in proper application.

Ask yourself: Why would he destroy something that foretold and speaks of himself?  And concerning the law (Torah) the Hebrew Scriptures  -  Why would he come to establish something (Christianity) that would render null and void that which he himself taught to his disciples (talmidim)?

The Torah new covenant is to be placed/written in/upon our hearts (purpose of Sinai, Pentecost or Shavout in Hebrew- according to Jeremiah 31:33) so that we can live it accordingly - apart from religion, ceremonies and sacrifices.

And once you embrace that; you will no longer say “I am Christian”, instead you will say “I am Israel” or "I am Hebrew"- Selah’

Set Apart, but in the Midst

Often times when one set out on a journey of truth, they are so excited and hopeful; expecting that others would eventually join them on the journey.  After all, a meal is much better shared with company than eaten alone.  But as the journey get stretched out one becomes a little saddened because they have not seen others along the way. The sadness doesn’t detour them from the journey; it’s just that the loneliness makes the journey less joyful.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

You see the reason the journey is lonely is because you expect others (as they get on the path) to walk, talk and have the same outlook as you.  You expect others to teach, minister and even dress like you.  When in essence you/they should be like HIM.

Elijah was there.  He felt as if he was the only prophet/Torah keeper/follower of Yah in the land.  He felt as if he was the one.  Why?  Because Yah has chosen and used him openly; the evidence was there (responsible for the slaying of the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18). Used openly; but now, the journey seems lonely to him.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

You see Elijah became fearful and isolated after the slaying of the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18; so much so that Elijah ran for his life.  Why?  Because of the words of Jezebel! She has threaten him!....Has the words of others sidetracked you?  Or, has the lack of words (applause, recognition) slowed you down?  Now, you began to look around and wonder; who’s with me or who’s on my side?

1 Kings 19:18-----Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.  Selah’.

Can you recognize the seven thousand?

In our western culture you see so many things that are anti-Elohim and anti-Torah.  Things that make you cringe and weep. You wish that the Torah keepers and the Messiah believers would be as prevalent, open and recognizable as those who are in the circe (church) system.  But they are not. So you ask yourself this question:  Where are the Seven Thousand?  Glad you ask. The seven thousand are set-apart, but yet in the midst of you.  They have jobs in various industries, businesses, families, active in their communities; they are single, unemployed, young and old.  Just like in 1 Kings 19:18, Yah knows them.

Some are in the midst of secular venues; hidden, but yet faithful! They are scattered; but, they will be called together at Yah’s timing! Isaiah 11:11-12----On that day Elohim will raise his hand again, a second time, to reclaim the remnant of his people who remain from Ashur, Egypt, Patros,
Ethiopia, ‘Eilam, Shin‘ar, Hamat and the islands in the sea. He will hoist a banner for the Goyim (Nations), assemble the dispersed of Isra’el, and gather the scattered of Y’hudah from the four corners of the earth.

Remember what Messiah said in Matthew 13:30---- Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.  Why would he say…let both grow together?  In other words (in relations to this post)..don’t worry about who you see and don’t see on the journey, or who has not joined, applauded, sided or agreed with you!  When you read the 13th chapter of Matthew, you will discover the word “field” represents the world.  So you must understand that the remnants (seven thousand) are in the midst all along, just scattered.  Galatians 6:9a---- So let us not grow weary of doing what is good.

The fact that Tare resembles Wheat; and, it is not until the harvest can one tell the difference between the two.  And just like in 1 Kings 19:18, Yah knows them; and they will manifest/be revealed.

However, they are not to be revealed for you; but, for HIM, and for HIS purpose.  Selah’
