I
had previously encountered someone who I believe really loves Elohim, but
through the influence religion of Christianity (I’ve been there so I’m not dogging
them). During our conversation they
would use the name Jehovah quite frequently (that lets me know that they are
removing the term God and LORD from their faith vocabulary-yes!). However, during the same conversation when I
begin to use the Hebraic name of our Messiah, that person ended the
conversation so subtly, and got into their vehicle and left. That incident stayed on my mind for several
days.
You
see, there are many false voices, false doctrines and false beliefs that are
confusing people who are doing their best to worship the Father in spirit and
in truth. One of those doctrines is “that
only cults use the Hebraic name of God as YHVH, Yahweh, Yahuah, Yah, and
Elohim; or the name of the Messiah as Yahusha, Yahushua, or Yeshua”.
Even
though there’s historical proof that the letter “J” has only been in the
English alphabet/vocabulary since the late 15th century (500-600
years), people are afraid to stop using the name Jehovah or Jesus. These names have become personal to them; and
it scares them to use any other name outside of these. Now of course this fear comes from only
Christianity.
My
question: If you believe in the Heavenly
Father, would not it be your desire to find out what is right and wrong about
your beliefs in order to be and do what HE requires? However, to assist those who would like to
become more like our Messiah; and to those who have encountered a similar
experience as I; here’s a list of terms that may help in the transition.
YHVH = Yahweh,
Yahuwah, Yahuah, or Yah found in Psalm 68:4
Elyon =
The Most High (G-d).
Beit
Midrash = House of study, usually referring to the study of Torah.
Chavurah
= a study group which normally meet to celebrate Sabbath, feast days etc…
K'riat
ha-Torah = Reading of the Scriptures in the synagogue. What Messiah did in Luke 4.
Rosh
Chodesh = The new moon. The day on which the Hebrew calendar moves to the new
month.
Shema =
Yah is One – found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Yahushua
( some spell it Yahusha, Yahshua, Yeshua) = Our Messiah aka in Christianity
called Jesus
HaMashiach
= Messiah
Baruch
Hashem = Blessed is the Name
B'rit
Chadasha = Renewed Covenant or New Testament in Christianity
Torah =
Five books of Moses and the instructions contained therein.
Tanach
or Tanakh = The Hebrew Scriptures, called Old Testament in Christianity. TaNaCH(K) is an acronym for Torah (the books of
Moses) Nevi'im (the Prophetic writings) Ketuvim (the remaining books).

four corners
Ets
Chayeem = Tree of Life. The rollers that hold our Torah Scroll.
Shavua
Tov = have a good week
Teshuvah = return to Yah, your Elohim
In your Teshuvah (return to Yah, your Elohim-Psalms 68:4) get to
know the scriptures from an Hebraic thought, application and context. Remember,
our Messiah was a Hebrew and did not come to destroy the law (Torah) the Hebrew
Scriptures, but to explain them in proper application.
Ask yourself: Why would he destroy something that foretold and
speaks of himself? And concerning the
law (Torah) the Hebrew Scriptures - Why
would he come to establish something (Christianity) that would render null and
void that which he himself taught to his disciples (talmidim)?
The Torah new covenant is to be placed/written in/upon our
hearts (purpose of Sinai, Pentecost or Shavout in Hebrew- according to Jeremiah
31:33) so that we can live it accordingly - apart from religion, ceremonies and
sacrifices.
And once you embrace that;
you will no longer say “I am Christian”, instead you will say “I am Israel” or "I am Hebrew"- Selah’
Shalom and Blessings
